Briar Wins Top Award for Season 2017

Congratulations to Briars Rugby first grade captain, Ash Simpson, who was the recipient of the 4th division Subbies Rugby Player of the Year. There were over 500 players that competed in 4th division Subbies Rugby Union this season so this is a huge achievement for Ash and for the Briars Rugby Club.

Briars Rugby was also nominated for the 4th division Subbies Rugby Union Club of the Year. Unfortunantely, Briars did not end up winning the award, which went to Oatley on the night for their outstanding season.

Briars Junior Rugby into the Grand Final

Congratulations to the U10's junior rugby team that have progressed through to their Grand Final this weekend. They took on Hunters Hill over the weekend in the Semi Final and came out on top in a tight contest 31-27.

The Grand Final will take place this Sunday at Mittigar Reserve Field 2 from 10.40am against Ryde. We wish them the best of luck.

Back to Briars Day

Ladies Day

Thank you to all the wonderful mums and local businesses who donated vouchers and products towards the raffles at Briars Rugby's ladies day on Saturday, 8th July.

It was a superb winters day and a treat seeing the Briars first grade rugby team run on the field wearing pink socks. Ladies Day raised over $1,600 for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Briars Rugby Lunch

Briars Rugby Old Boys would like to thank all those involved in helping organise the rugby lunch, which was held on Friday, 16th June. They would also like to thank all the current and past Briars rugby players who attended the lunch, for making it such an enjoyable and successful event.

A detailed article of the rugby lunch will be posted in the next addition of the Briars Rugby Old Boys Newsletter.
